Bahia Palace Morocco Travels – in Yellow!

Visiting Bahia Palace in Marrakech and other Morocco travel photographs in shades of Yellow. It’s funny when you focus on a particular colour, you start seeing it in so many things! Whilst writing about shades of blue has always been my favourite, it was fun and different finding shades of yellow in travels this time. As always, I focus in on one particular travel destination and this one is on our recent memorable trip to Marrakech, Morocco.

Bahia palace was built in the late 19th century, intended to be the greatest palace of its time. The name means “brilliance”. It was intended to capture the essence of Islamic and Moroccan style. There is a 2 acre garden with rooms opening onto courtyards. Beautiful architecture, lots of open space to make it enjoyable with children and lovely garden outside with lemon and orange trees and LOTS of cats!Slide1

I love the architecture in Morocco, your pictures are beautiful! Those pickles look interesting, did you have any?

    • samselim says: December 2, 2014 at 10:48 pm

The pickled lemons is used mainly in cooking – it’s added to tagine couscous dishes lamb stews and others. That’s what our tour guide told us. Dont think it’s similar to pickled peppers or cucumber like we have in uk or USA…tried different kind of pickled olives, they were great!

What a wonderful post to capture the feeling of the place and I love how you begin with a focus on one color. I’m going to use that when it fits!

    • samselim says: December 3, 2014 at 10:09 am

Thanks for the positive comments 🙂 It is a fun way to write a post, focusing on colour and there are so many websites to link to on colour – Mellow Yellow Monday, Ruby Tuesday, and few others that have colour themes, it’s great when it fits with a travel post!
