The Selim family have been travelling across the globe and are experts on family travel, visiting off the beaten track places, outdoors and nature based travel.  They have lived in England, Bangladesh, North America and New Zealand and travelled far and wide across 33 countries spanning 5 continents.

Both the adult Selims are Doctors – Ashique is a Psychiatrist and Samiya is a Marine Scientist – and they have been using their expertise of all things travel, science and sustainability to bring you inspiring stories and useful travel tips and information from the places they have travelled to.  The young Selims are enthusiastic travellers, budding photographer (Shahaar), writer and artist (Shama) and are confident travellers themselves having been to 20 countries in a span of 8 years of travel.

Selims Raasta provides a diverse and unique perspective on travel – we aim to show that family travel does not have to be about amusement parks and all-inclusive resorts. We are experts on road trips and campervan travel with kids and have done several cross-country road trips in Europe, North America, New Zealand and are now on a 2 month road trip across Australia.  We have explored culture, food, and history in Morocco, Thailand and many parts of Europe – again with children. And of course, our all time favourite – wildlife and national parks – in remote areas of Bangladesh, North America and several other countries we have been to over the last 20 years. We are happy to travel to far and remote places and highlight off the beaten path destinations and show how they can be enjoyed by the family.
