Whenever I come back from our travels, my mind is bursting with all the discoveries, stories, pictures that I want to write about! It happens even more so when we travel to new destinations unlike any we have been to before. For me this happened in China last month and it helped to write China Shenanigans at a glance and then later collect my thoughts to share my experiences more in detail.
Our four days in Marrakech this week was amazing and I am glad I have been given a very timely theme: Colourful to share with few words, one aspect of this journey that was so vivid in the Red City of Marrakech- COLOUR.
Just a glimpse of the many colours we saw while walking through the Souks and streets of Medina. And I didn’t even go into the buildings, colourful windows and doors and the red and green we saw on our day out in the Atlas Mountain Region!
I must admit this was one place where I had to fight the urge to buy things so much. I rarely shop, especially when we go travelling. It saves us money which we can use for travelling, and even more so can happily spend the time doing so much! But here everything was so beautiful and colourful…it’s a good thing we are moving to New Zealand in a month’s time. Really helped to curb the urge to buy spices, fabric, ceramics and so much more!

Gorgeous pictures! Everything is so colourful <3
So many colours! I can’t decide which picture is my favourite.
me neither 🙂
I am like reading your posts, Samyia. They are always accompanied by these suggestive and colorful pictures that transport you into the exotic places that you so beautifully describe. Marrakech is no exception: very colorful and bursting with life. I liked the toilet picture, so funny colors for a restroom.
I am in awe with the bright bold beautiful colors in all of these photos!! I especially love the first one – the shadows add so much to the overall image. Marrakech looks like such a vibrant place to visit!! Thanks for sharing!

A great gallery!
Thank you 🙂
We are currently planning a trip to Marrakesh…I can’t wait to see all these colors. I have seen the painted chicks before…weird, right? Thanks for linking up with Weekend Travel Inspiration!
How exciting that you are going to marrakech! I would love to go back, enjoyed it so much. Chicks were strange!
Such lovely pictures. I always have such colorful images of Marrakech in my mind: the tiles, the marketplace, the textiles. I love the pictures of marketplace finds.
I’ve wanted to visit Morocco and Marrakech for a long time, it looks so interesting and different than everything I’ve seen before. I love how colorful the pictures are, especially the one with the powder dye. Poor chickens though 🙁
It certainly is very colourful! And whoa, colored chickens?! I wonder why…
[…] We were just in Marrakech recently and absolutely LOVED this city! The architecture and energy here was amazing. Read about our travels in this colourful city here. […]
Quite possibly the prettiest public city toilet I’ve ever seen. :o) Love these photos. I can’t wait to visit Marrakech!

I thought the same, definitely the most colourful I have see 🙂 We loved our time in Marrakech, I hope you get to go, such a vibrant city!
I imagine Morocco as a dance of colors and your photos confirmed that! That moment when you come back home and everything is so fresh in your mind, that’s my favorite moment too. I can’t wait to visit one day.
Whenever I see pictures of Marrakech, I always think the city looks so colourful and your photos make me think just the same! It just looks such a vibrant place! I think I’d also have to stop myself from buying everything – I wouldn’t have enough room in my luggage!
[…] recent travels, we absolutely loved Croatia and Morocco. We had high expectations of both countries and neither let us down! We loved the culture, colours, […]
I’m left speechless looking at the dynamism and sheer brightness of the colours! I could easily fall in love with Marrakech. My favorite shot? The one of the indigo powder. It doesn’t even look real!
Thanks 🙂 we found marrakech really amazing!
Beautiful photos! I love all the rich colors! Thanks for posting and sharing this with everyone; my only experience with Marrakech was the food box I ordered from TrytheWorld. That was fun but not the same as being there.
You should try the Try The World food box–this month it’s from Marrakesh, and it was soooo much fun trying the food in it. They also include a booklet with cultural info, music play list, recipes, and more. I wrote about opening my food box when it arrived at http://www.postcardsandpassports.com/try-world-food-box-morocco/
thanks for the tip, might give it a shot 🙂
Morroco is on my travel list! I love the colours I see in the pictures and I hope one day I’ll go and take such photos myself 🙂
